YMCA Aquatics offers water-based safety, skill, and sport and exercise programs for all ages and abilities. Since 1885, the YMCA has been an innovator and leader in aquatic program development for the world.
Through various aquatic programs, the Y not only helps develop swimming and water safety skills, but also focuses on members' needs, as well as those of the community. From preschoolers to adults, overcoming fear of the water and developing water and swimming skills are rewarding. And, it promotes better health as a physical activity that can be performed throughout life.
Our teaching methods focus primarily on student-centered learning, increasing awareness of safety in all aspects, and assisting participants in perfecting skills to the best of their ability.
To give participants a well-rounded and fun aquatic background, the program includes opportunities to take part in recreational and competitive aquatic activities, including playing games and aquatic sports.
The goal of the swim team is to promote self-awareness, mental development, strong work ethic, and maximum satisfaction and enjoyment.
YMCA water fitness programs allow participants to experience the benefits of water resistance to improve cardiovascular ability, strength, balance and flexibility.
