In addition to your membership, our YMCAs offer a variety of special events and clubs for all ages. Many events are free to members and include some national YMCA events such as Healthy Kids Day, National Active Older Adult Day and National Volunteer Week. NOTE: We are still working on posting these special events and they vary by center and season.
Races, clinics and clubs may include education on developing a healthy lifestyle such as healthy eating, wellness screenings, and may include special guest professionals such as doctors, dentists and dietitians. Clubs vary by location and may include reading clubs, walking clubs, triathlon training and many others.

This group meets weekly to allow you to prepare for a 10k, half-marathon or marathon. Enjoy the social aspect of doing long runs with a group of friendly faces.Must register to participate.
Never run before? Feeling nervous about starting? Let us help you ease into it. We will run together on a weekly basis. We recommend workouts for the reminder of the week. Maybe we can run together in the Pilgrim Pacer!

This workshop will focus on the dynamics of heart rate training as it relates to physical activity. You'll discover the different training zones and what they can do for your workouts. This workshop is beneficial to anyone who wants to learn how to improve their cardiovascular fitness.
We strongly recommend purchasing a heart rate monitor prior to the workshop (if your don't already have one). However, bringing a heart rate strap is the only requirement (Polar brand).
Intro to TRX Suspension Training Workshop
TRX is a new way for all fitness levels to build strength, flexibility and keep your heart rate pumping. TRX utilizes your own body weight to create resistance by adjustments in body position and angle.

National Senior Health and Fitness Day
Calling all Seniors, come participate in an event filled with fitness classes, screening, snacks and friends! We are sure you will have fun and learn a thing or two!
Are you ready to spend some quality family time in the outdoors? You have a unique opportunities to camp out here at Hastings Lake. Bring your tent, sleeping bags, food, a smile and be ready to have some cooking s'mores, hotdogs, etc. The campout begins about 7pm.
Healthy Kids Day is an annual event hosted by many YMCAs across the United States, including many of our YMCAs. Meet healthy vendors and have your kids participate in a wide variety of activities. Learn some favorite healthy snack recipe's and more!

This event includes: 5K Run/Walk and a Kids 1 mile fun run . Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The run portion of the event will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m., beginning and ending at the High Ridge YMCA. The Kids fun run will take place immediately after the 5K Run concludes.
Family package includes two (2) Adult 5K Registrations three (3) Kids 1 Mile Fun Run Registrations, please visit the High Ridge YMCA located at 2424 W. Touhy Ave for familiy registrations.
