Our active older adults are welcome to participate in our adult programming, but we also have tailored programs. We offer some low-impact activities and partner with organizations like the Arthritis Foundation to meet the needs of our communities.
Swimming Senior (62+ yrs)
Masters Swimming is a great way to get the most out of your laps in the pool. Don't let the term Masters scare you. All levels of swimmers are welcome to join. Whether you are interested in competition or just getting in shape, we can help you with your stroke. Swimming with other people led by a trained coach will help you stay motivated. The coach will also help you improve your endurance and stroke technique.

This class uses slow, precise movements in the water. It is good for anyone with injuries, arthritis, MS or other physical challenges. The class focuses on range of motion using low impact exercise.
Twinges in the Hinges is an Arthritis Foundation-approved class designed for active older adults to enhance muscle development and joint movement, as well as provide a fun and effective way to exercise.
Pilates Senior (62+ yrs)
This gentle class is good for all levels and ages. The class combines introductory Pilates with streching and balance. Use of equipment and fit balls.
For those 55+, this class will target the needs of this age group.

SilverSneakers Senior (62+ yrs)
Combine fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular endurance and muscular power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand held weights elastic tubing with handles and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

Hand-held weights, elastic tubing and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and standing support.
SilverSneakers MSROM (Muscular Strength, Range of Motion)
Designed for participants age 65 and over, this class moves through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and skills required during activities for daily living (ADL). Hand held weights, elastic tubing and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and standing support.
SilverSneakers Splash is an aerobic in the water designed by the popular SilverSneakers Program. This class provides the combined benefits of an aerobic and a no-impact workout. It uses the water as resistance to increase muscle tone. Taught by SilverSneakers Splash certified teachers.
YogaStretch will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Whatever age you are ... this modified class is designed as a low-to-moderate-intensity cardiovascular, flexibility, balance and muscle conditioning workout. This class is also ideal for an after-injury transitional class.
This class is designed for the young at heart. It will help you get in shape, stay in shape and have fun doing it. Bring friends of all ages for a great workout too!

Celebrate Grandparents Day with us in a new way. Bring your grandparents to the YMCA to watch you in your sport or to take part in a special workout. Workout for grandparents and kids will take place in the aerobic studio.
