Kindergarten Counts AM (Kinder After School Enrichment)

Children attending Kindergarten at District 15 schools including Hunting Ridge, Jane Addams, Lake Louise, Lincoln, Marion Jordan, Paddock, Pleasant Hill, Sanborn, Virginia Lake, Whitely, and Winston Campus can extend their school day to include the Kindergarten Counts Program at Buehler YMCA which provides educational and enrichment activities.

Kindergarten Counts is a DCFS-licensed program taught by early childhood educators with a curriculum based on Illinois Common Core Learning Standards and includes Jolly Phonics and Guided Reading. Our program also includes weekly work which focuses on number and letter recognition and writing as well as simple math. Students participate in educational, physical, and social enrichment activities like music, CATCH, and swimming. Field trips and class parties are scheduled throughout the school year.

AM Kindergarten Counts begins at 8am and students are transported from the YMCA to PM Kindergarten at participating District 15 schools. Children attending Kindergarten at District 15 schools including Hunting Ridge, Jane Addams, Lake Louise, Lincoln, Marion Jordan, Paddock, Pleasant Hill, Sanborn, Virginia Lake, Whitely, and Winston Campus can extend their school day to include the Kindergarten Counts program at Buehler YMCA which provides educational and enrichment activities.

Kindergarten Counts is a DCFS-licensed program taught by early childhood educators with a curriculum based on Illinois Common Core Learning Standards and includes Jolly Phonics and Guided Reading. Our program also includes weekly work which focuses on number and letter recognition and writing as well as simple math. Students participate in educational, physical, and social enrichment activities like music, CATCH, and swimming. Field trips and class parties are scheduled throughout the school year.

Students in AM Kindergarten at participating District 15 schools are transported to the YMCA to attend the Kindergarten Counts program until 4pm. Care can be extended to 6pm through enrollment in our Kindergarten Link After School Care program.
